The Three Ts To Better Blogging

the word trend

When creating content for your blog, Google Real Time Search Trends is a great tool for monitoring what is currently trending in any city or country across the world over the past 24 hours.

Focussing on this allows you to work on the three Ts to boost your blog.

Tailored Content –┬áTrend following – Traffic increase

One topic that has hit the headlines multiple times recently is Tesla CEO Elon Musk. His very public messages and recent interviews have had a negative impact on the Tesla share price and, as a result, high-profile executives have left the company.

So how can any business capitalise on this ongoing story?

Tailored Content

While not every business has such a large profile as Tesla, every business has a reputation and brand it needs to protect. So creating tailored content around how to protect and build your brand, in both bad times and the good, is a great way to tap into the trend of Tesla.

Trend

Once you have decided on an entry into the trend, it is important to use your links, hashtags and social media pages to distribute your content, of course linking back to your own blog. Your content is now part of what is trending in the social media world.

Traffic

As stories such as these gain momentum on Twitter and Facebook, hashtags become all important – more recently Youtube has made hashtags an official source for catergorising videos (although limited to three hashtags). Clicking on these hashtags will bring up results all containing a particular hashtag.

As your content is tailored in a different way to how many people writing about Elon Musk will have approached the story, your content will appeal to a different audience. As your content get shared, retweeted or watched, traffic will hopefully begin to flow back to where you want it; your website or blog.

So keep an eye on trends. They are fast-moving and come and go quickly. If you stay on the pulse, you just might be able to catch the traffic train before it has left the station.
